Some of the common symptoms of prostate cancer include the following-
Blood in the semen and urine.
Pain in upper legs, spine, pelvis and hips.
Difficulty in getting an erection.
Discomfort or pain during ejaculation.
Urinary problems like difficulty in initiating urination, weak urine stream, starting and stopping during urination, burning or pain during urination, urinating frequently especially at nights. However, these symptoms can even be associated with the noncancerous enlargement of the prostate.
There can be different risk factors associated with the prostate cancer. Some of the main risk factors include-
Family history- If a person has a family history of someone related to them suffering from prostate cancer then there are high chances that the person might suffer it as well.
Age over 65- This is one of the most important risk factors. When a man gets older the chances of cancer increase. A man with age less than 45 years is rarely affected by it.
Certain prostate changes- The men who have high grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN) cells are at a higher risk for prostate cancer.
Race- African American men are most prone to prostate cancer while it is very uncommon among Native American, Asian/Pacific Islanders and Native Alaskan men.
