The Angry Bird game has now been downloaded more than half a billion times, making it one of if not the most popular game there is. That’s not bad for a game that was launched less than two years ago on December 2009 as an app for Apple’s iOS devices. The game is the brainchild of the people behind Rovio mobile, a Finnish company, which is soon to launch a store in Helsinki, Finland which specializes in Angry Bird spin-offs idr168.
There are currently Angry Bird animated cartoons, and work is in the pipeline for many more but the latest offering gives you a flavor of what is to come; it was recently released in the run-up to Halloween and called “Ham-o’een.” The creators of Angry birds are clever at coming up with appropriate titles not only for the animated series, but for their add-ons to the basic game and to the levels of the game itself. For example we can play “Summer Pignic” or “Season’s Greedings” which I think are very good titles for this game whose objectives are to kill as many pigs as possible by catapulting extremely Angry Birds at their hiding places.
It is possible that you are one of the people who have not yet played this game, or perhaps you have but have not fully appreciated it. It would seem that a lot of adults find this game both entertaining and compulsive, as in the US recently there have been pundits trying to work out how many working hours have been lost due to employees playing the game during work time. Of course this is a pointless calculation, but it does demonstrate how popular the Angry Birds game actually is.
Ronvio Mobile actually makes around a million dollars in advertising per month it is estimated and grossed $70 million up to March this year. That’s not bad for a little over a year from the launch of the Angry Bird game. You can download the app or play the game free online and pit your skills against your friends or any other player online.
